We are in full compliance with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (“APPI”) and other relevant laws, and strictly adhere to the following privacy policy concerning the treatment of personal information.

We acquire personal information by appropriate and legal means.

We use the personal information that we acquire only to the extent necessary to achieve the following and for no other purposes:

• Providing legal services
• Responding to inquiries
• Participating in seminars, lectures, panels and other similar activities
• Sending out newsletters, greetings (such as new year’s cards), and other similar items
• Operating and managing our law firm
• Other matters related to the above

We do not provide to third parties any personal information that we acquire unless the individual identified by the personal information gives us prior consent for disclosure, or the APPI or relevant laws permit disclosure.

We take all reasonably necessary measures to properly safeguard and manage the personal information that we acquire.

If an individual identified by the personal information that we acquire makes a proper and lawful request that we disclose, correct, delete, or stop providing their personal information to third parties, we will take the appropriate steps to comply with their request in accordance with the APPI unless: (i) we discover that the personal information in question does not match the requesting individual; or (ii) our compliance with the request would breach the lawyers’ professional duty of confidentiality.
